Our customer, located in Lexington, MA, has multiple long-term contract needs for Software Developers. The Software Developers will be responsible for developing and implementing software modules that will support rapid prototyping of sensor control and processing systems. All work will be on-site in Lexington, MA. Applicants MUST be US Citizens and be eligible to receive Secret Security Clearances.
Responsibilities:
-Work closely with the system architects and other developers for the various systems to design, develop, debug, and implement real-time software modules for control of sensors and processing of signals.
-Actively participate in the planning, specification, and testing of the system.
-Comply with software standards and mission assurance practices dictated by the project leadership and sponsors.
Requirements:
-Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or similar scientific or engineering discipline.
-Candidates will be required to complete a C++ coding skills test that our agency will help administer.
-In-depth knowledge of C++ object oriented programming.
-Experience with software development processes, as well as configuration management tools and standards.
-Ability to work well under pressure and keep up-to-date with the latest cutting-edge technology and make appropriate recommendations to this end.
Additional Details about Work Environment:
-Projects involve hardware and software related to radar and other sensor systems.
-Software is multi-layered and includes C++, Python, Java, Matlab and other programming languages and operates in a real-time environment.
Pluses:
-Familiar with the assembly of hardware components within a system to support prototyping and system integration.
-Proven track record developing large-scale complex systems.
-Other programming languages (Java, C, Python, Matlab, etc.)
-Effective project team member with strong communication and organizational skills. Flexibility to support changes of approach and task priorities.
-Experience with C++ templates, Boost libraries, STL, and object-oriented design and programming.
-Experience developing software in a Linux/Unix environment.
-Expertise with parallel processing (multi-threaded and multi-processor) or distributed middleware.
-An in-depth understanding of highly redundant and fault tolerant systems in a Unix/Linux environment.
-Familiar with concepts related to: radar, open systems, real-time software, network sockets, operating systems, and diverse computer environments including networked computers, computer clusters, high-performance computers, and remote systems.
-Familiarity with Subversion, Source Forge, GNU Autotools and debugging tools, Doxygen, XML.
-Embedded software and hardware, Gigabit Ethernet interfaces, GPA timing, and optical systems.

SUMMARY: One of our best clients, located in Lexington, MA, has a long-term contract opening for a Web Developer. The responsibilities include building and maintaining LAMP (Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP) web applications and web services. The position will also involve maintenance of existing web services and web applications deployed on the organization's intranet as well as new development as directed. The Group develops concepts, technologies, and prototypes to provide on-the-move tactical military forces with wideband packet network access. The group's current focus is on the design and integration of increasingly more capable, inexpensive, modular, mobile network nodes that support satellite, airborne and terrestrial links. The purpose of these nodes is to give mobile warfighters the network access they need to run critical command-and-control applications and situational awareness applications no matter where are moving in a theater of operations. During testing, nodes are placed on military vehicles and driven in rugged, off-road environments. New technologies that are being developed and integrated into the modular nodes include novel tri-band antenna feeds, three-axis positioning systems, new waveforms and protocols for transponding satellites, and programmable modems.
SKILL SET REQUIREMENTS:
The candidate's background and experience should demonstrate proficiency in developing web applications and web services based on the following technologies:
Linux, Apache, MySQL, Ajax, Web services (XML-RPC and/or SOAP), HTML, XML, CSS, PHP, and Javascript
Candidates familiar with one of more of the following concepts and technologies will be strongly preferred:
Model-View-Controller architectures, N-tier web systems, OpenSSL, Kerberos, LDAP, Active Directory, maintenance workflow (trouble tickets), release management, QA process, Scriptaculous, Dojo, JQuery, Prototype.
EDUCATION:
-BS Computer Science degree is strongly preferred.
-Good English/writing skills and oral communication skills are preferred.
