Our MA customer is seeking a Level 1 Designer for schematic capture and printed circuit board layout of RF and mixed signal circuits. Experience with layout and familiarity with manufacturing processes for multi-layered circuit boards at 18+ GHz is required. Knowledge of manufacturing design rules and ability to design around tight tolerances are necessary. Work will be in an environment with flexibility in design processes including unconventional board configurations and design flows.
Special Talents & Qualifications: Two-year degree in Electro/Mechanical design from an accredited technical institute or its equivalent and/or 10+ years of directly related RF and mixed signal PCB layout experience required. Board designer certifications and involvement with IPC standards, designer-to-designer workshops, etc., are strongly preferred. Must have significant experience with DxDesigner and Expedition PCB 2007 from Mentor Graphics, with working knowledge of CES and Library Manager. Experience with AutoCAD, Agilent ADS, and movement of designs between mechanical, electromagnetic, and board design tools is highly desirable.

One of our best clients in Lexington, MA has an immediate long-term, on-site contract need for a Printed Circuit Board (PCB) CAD Librarian to help manage the deployment and support of the Mentor Graphics Dx/Expedition PCB CAD tools. Applicant MUST be US Citizen and be eligible to receive Secret Security Clearance.
RESPONSIBILITIES: -Create schematic symbol and footprint geometries for component Library database. -Maintain part number to symbol/footprint relationships in Oracle DxDatabook database. -Verifiy pin-outs and package geometry on new library components. -Evaluate new tool releases with subsequent configuration, rollout and support of networked PCB design flow. -Create and deliver in-house training classes in this design flow. -Provide one-on-one technical support to more than 60 internal users. -Write and publish Tool FAQs, Technical Application Notes, and Welcome pages on- line.
REQUIREMENTS: -BSEE/BSET or equivalent related experience. -Must have 6 years experience in EDA, with at least 3 years in Mentor Graphics DXDesigner/Expedition tools (ex: performing CAD Admin / librarian functions or schematic circuit design in this CAD design flow). -Strong Linux/Unix experience. -Experience with Oracle databases and/or client/server applications a plus. -EDA application engineer experience a plus. -CAD PCB design in a team environment with excellent written and oral communication skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES: -Assist engineering staff on a Laboratory- wide basis in conducting research and development of advanced packaging concepts for the study and development of advanced electronic systems. -Design complex Printed Circuit Boards(PCB), Multi Chip Modules (MCM), and Hybrid structures for high speed and high frequency circuit applications. -Develop advanced electro/mechanical packaging concepts and contribute to the design and fabrication of these structures. -Independently perform assignments which require in-depth technical knowledge to analyze complex design problems and produce original design solutions. -Provide technical recommendations to and maintain continual liaison with supervisor and engineering staff in design approaches, new processes, and technologies to meet program requirements.
