PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE Under minimal supervision, design and develop web-based online training for our client’s representatives. Perform and support the design, analysis, testing, and distribution tasks needed to deliver state-of-the-art online training.
Develop individual online courses as requested by Program Directors in Learning & Communications. These courses typically use a standard design and reusable graphics and code templates. Work within these structures to create 15-60 minute online courses that are interactive, educationally sound, and focused clearly on business objectives.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES •Design interactive programs that effectively use technology to meet educational and business goals. •Develop, test, and debug programs so that they work without defects. •Participate in planning and design meetings with Program Directors, Instructional Designers, and SMEs. •Suggest and prototype new features that address business needs. •Coach Instructional Designers on online training capabilities and techniques. •Estimate work and meet schedules required by business sponsors.
KEY SKILLS -Hands-on programming experience, specifically with a high level of Flash programming skills -Experience with tools like Captivate, HTML, JavaScript, Authorware, Photoshop, and CSS

Our client in Natick has a need for a permanent Course Development Manager to serve as the project manager for the development and maintenance of 30+ courses which serve various applications and industries, and are presented in various languages. Qualified candidate will: -Manage, coach, and develop training engineers dedicated to the art and science of course development. -Coordinate interaction with subject matter experts from Development, and facilitate design review processes with training engineers and Documentation. -Develop and maintain strategies for creating and maintaining custom content. -Develop and administer a formal certification program for both training engineers and customers. -Develop and implement a strategy for managing instructional content for delivery via ILT, synchronous eLearning, and asynchronous eLearning. -Maintain criteria for the creation of new courses and retiring of existing courses. -Compile and present content development and course success metrics.
As a critical member of the training services management team, the Course Development Manager will provide leadership and direction for new and existing course content, learning tracks, certification programs, and alternative delivery methods. This person will lead a dedicated course development team and coordinate project objectives with aligned business areas including Development, Operations, and Marketing.
Requirements: Qualified applicant must possess an MS degree in an engineering discipline and have at least 5 years experience managing course development and/or user certification. Additional qualifications include: -Knowledge and experience of instructional design for technical training content. -Working knowledge and experience with adult learning principles as they relate to course development and certification. -Experience managing a staff of technical course developers. -Experience driving multiple simultaneous course development projects. -Relevant experience with both synchronous and asynchronous eLearning tools and methodologies. -Knowledge of MathWorks tools for data analysis and visualization or model based design would be a plus. -Experience designing learning tracks for CAE tool applications and/or relevant industries would be a plus.
