Telecommunications Technician

Assignment:
Seeking a skilled individual, who with minimum supervision, will assist with installation, testing and repair of telecommunications and data network services. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation of telephones, interfacing devices, voicemail and secure telephones. Install, connect networking equipment and related interfaces and cabling. Assist with the installation, monitoring and maintenance of WAN links. Some installations may require snaking and pulling of copper or fiber media above ceilings or in crawl spaces. May assist with the installation and maintenance of broadband video system. May assist with the operation and maintenance of videoconferencing equipment. Lifting and transporting of electronic test equipment is routinely required.

-Moves/Adds/Changes -Completes Customer Service Requisitions (CSR) requiring the programming of telephone moves, adds, and changes on Avaya TDM and VoIP call servers and voicemail systems.
-Equipment Moves & Installations -
Install network equipment including node connections in the NDF's, office outlets, and data centers including but limited to switches, routers and server's. Install, move data networking equipment and its related cabling including copper and fiber patching. Assists with troubleshooting and repair which may require ladder use to remove tiles and access above ceiling areas.
-Data Center Support -
Support the central Data Center. Installation of servers, network connections and fiber patches. Also assist in the removal of equipment and connections.
-Administrative -
Labels all network and PBX components and connections in accordance with ISD practices. Inputs information pertaining to installations and modifications of telephone and network systems into various Internal Facilities Configuration Management Systems.

This person is under the supervision of the NCS Team lead and service lead. No direct budget control. Responsibility limited to order entry, quality control and invoice validation.

This position will have frequent interaction with staff members and internal service departments to ensure timely and quality installation and support of telecommunications services.

Special Talents & Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Graduation from a two year technical day school or its equivalent is required.
- Demonstrate proficiency supporting Nortel Call Pilot and CS-1000 installation and maintenance.
- Demonstrate proficiency with network and cable test equipment (e.g. Fluke)
- Ability to install, move telecommunications, network and data center equipment over 25 pounds
- Experience with ladder usage to install/check/test overhead telecommunications equipment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills

Preferred: - Certification in Nortel Certified Support Specialist (NCSS) or Avaya equivalent

Experience:
A minimum of five years of hands-on experience with Avaya/Nortel data and telephony products is desirable. A minimum of two years of hands-on experience with Juniper data products is desirable. Experience working in a communications carrier or large enterprise environment is required.

Other:
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. This position requires an individual with good communication (both oral and writing) and organizational skills. The individual must be able to work in a fast-paced environment at times with minimal supervision and execute tasks with a high degree of quality.

Our customer has an urgent new long-term contract need for a Document Control/Admin person to implement Aegis CircuitCAM paperless product assembly instructions for electronic assembly and inspection. Applicants MUST be U.S. citizens and be eligible to obtain Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain paperless revision control and change management system for Group 72 documentation and assembly files.
- Implement Route Enforcement System and maintain once in place.
- Develop and maintain efficient revision control system and act as the gatekeeper for all production documents.
- Implement and maintain Route Enforcement and WIP tracking system using assigned stations and scanners.
- Develop a paperless Lessons Learned form that is archived with the assembly instructions.
- Link to Digital Photos of build through process documentation portal.
- Implement paperless Process Change Order, Engineering Change Notice, Temporary Build instruction and DR.
- Integrate paperless tracking including description, personnel involved, and time stamp into process instructions.
- Provide efficient on-line datasheet access through hyperlinks.
- Develop system to ensure all relevant "As-Built" data is archived and readily accessible through the assembly instructions portal.
- Generate machine programs and MyData packages using on-line parts library.
- Implement a web based revision control system with on-line sign-off and email and text message notification.
- Assist with reviewing printed circuit board documentation packages prior to signoff.

Special Talents & Qualifications
- Complete work accurately, on time, and with limited direction.
- Effectively communicate and coordinate with other team members.
- Can multi-task and communicate schedule and progress on assigned tasks.
- Attention to detail and working with process engineers is a must.
- Minimum of 8 years of administrative assistant or document control experience in a fast paced environment.
- Experience with AEGIS CircuitCAM and documenting Printed Circuit Assembly processes a plus.
- College degree is desirable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including: Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Direct experience working in an electronics assembly environment a must.
- Experience with Windchill and various data formats such as AutoCAD, Mentor Graphics DxDesigner, Expedition, CircuitCAM, machine programs a plus.

Our client has a long-term immediate need
for a SAP Plant Maintenance Assistant.
The SAP Plant Maintenance Assistant will
assist in identifying, gathering, creating
and entering associated bills of materials
and object data for various research
equipment in order to implement SAP and
meet Mission Assurance objective. This is
a long-term contract that will initially go
for one year. All work to be on-site at our
client in Lexington, MA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Consult with and work closely with various
owners, researchers, supervisors and safety
personnel in order to assist with on-going
SAP documentation activities
-Help create preventative maintenance plans
to include tasks lists and schedules for
such plans for various equipment object
types. -Assist the Plant Maintenance Coordinator
by performing the following duties:
organizing equipment data sheets, revising
existing equipment data based on feedback,
make equipment labels using the Brady label
maker, assist in setting up project
packages, distribute work orders to the
various trades shops, generate weekly
reports using existing templates, work with
Equipment Control Group as required, spin
off real work orders, close out work orders
and any other duties that may be assigned.

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
-A technical degree in mechanical
engineering, associated discipline, or
equivalent combination of education and
facilities maintenance experience is highly
desirable.
-Minimum of two years experience in a
facilities services type environment
dealing with work orders and preventative
maintenance that involved complex
mechanical, electrical, Lab systems and
general plant equipment.
-Applicant should have extensive experience
with using automated methods
-Experience using Microsoft Windows
Applications and MS Outlook email is
required.
-Experience using a data base management
system preferably SAP Plant Maintenance and
Materials Management modules is highly
desirable.
-Ability to climb over and around equipment
in mechanical rooms and construction areas
a must.(This person will be required to
climb and maneuver on ladders, staging and
work platforms and/or tight spaces)
