Principal Instructional Designer

Our client in Westford, MA seeks a dynamic,
innovative, collaborative, hands-on
Instructional Designer/Course Developer to
augment the company's expert, talented
learning team.
The Principal Instructional Designer will
create learning materials to be delivered
targeted to the service provider
marketplace.

Essential Responsibilities:
-Work with a virtual, highly seasoned
learning team and customers to conduct
training needs and assessments and develop
targeted course materials. Creatively
visualize and explain complex ideas for a
broad range of advanced network performance
troubleshooting, monitoring and management
products.
-Apply instructional systems design (ISD)
theories and adult learning principles to
create design documents that specify
learning objectives, strategies, learning
materials, design specifications, measures
of student learning, and learning impact
(e.g., business results)
-Collaborate with the learning team to
design and develop new instructional
materials and help maintain existing
courseware. Develop materials to support
both facilitators and participants in
various delivery methods taking account of
adult learning principles with meticulous
attention to detail. This includes design
of both face-to-face courses as well as
eLearning solutions using interactive
online learning models to ensure effective
online training
-Evaluate the effectiveness of
instructional content by creating
evaluation components to track outcomes and
ensure alignment with business objectives

Requirements:
-Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design
or Curriculum Training and Development.
Master's degree preferred.
-Minimum 5 to 7 years training and
development experience required
-Team-oriented individual with strong
interpersonal, communication (both written
and oral), research, and organizational
skills, and the ability to prioritize
multiple tasks for self and others
-Strong project and time management skills,
to meet aggressive project and deadline
schedules
-Must have demonstrated interpersonal
skills and be able to build consensus
across teams
-Act as mentor to team in creating
innovative training solutions in all media
and delivery methods
-Ability through research, self-learning
and investigation to stay on top of the
relevant network product and technologies
learning curve
-Has extensive experience of analysis,
design, and development in multiple modes
of instructional initiatives including:
instructor-led training, computer-based
training, and web-based training
(synchronous and asynchronous)
-Has extensive experience consulting with
team members and SME's that has led to the
development of successful instructional and
performance-centered products
-Has studied and successfully applied adult
learning theories and principles to
training decisions to ensure that course
materials meet training goals
-Experience with synchronous learning
platforms such as WebEx Training Center or
Adobe Connect
-Stay abreast of the latest learning
techniques and industry trends
-Familiarity with LMS tools
-Working knowledge of HTML, authoring
software, Dreamweaver, Flash Fireworks,
Captivate, Camtasia, and/or Adobe Photoshop
preferred
-Demonstrated instructional graphic design
and visual support to enhance learning
content -Expert Microsoft Office Suite skills
-Minimum of 2 years of curriculum design
for service provider IT customers;
specifically wireless required; fixed line,
cable operators a plus
